in a play . . . how would you . . . Students were engaged in the activity.

Check the directions that you gave to the students. Couple of students seemed a little confused at the start of the circle activity. I heard them ask if they were supposed to say both lines given or just one.

Comments: Learner-centered classroom

Strengths

Areas to Address

Your classroom is very learner centered. You have built relationships the students and they respect you.

Pacing was a little quick at times. You know the material and it was aligned with your goals for the day. Objective was posted and you executed the plan.

Comments: Formative assessment of students is strong.

Strengths

Areas to Address

Excellent job of moving around the room and check student progress.

You might want to be a little more vocal on your praise of students. I know you reinforced learning but you might want to stop the class to point out examples.

Comments: When the video didn’t work you went to the next activity. This will happen in you classroom at some time. You did a good job redirecting students and moving on with the lesson.

Strengths

Areas to Address

Excellent management of materials. You used video, print, and acting to deliver your lesson. Disruptions did not phase you.

Discipline issues are common in theater classes. Just make sure you have great plan from day one.
